At present, resistance heating and screw transport plasticization are still the most important way of plastic melt plasticization, but the industry has never stopped exploring different melting methods. In the past few years, South China University of Technology proposed the theory and technology of electromagnetic dynamic plasticization, and electromagnetic induction heating technology is also accepted by more and more extrusion, injection processing and equipment manufacturers. Recently, a variety of new melt plasticization technologies have appeared on the market.

At CHINAPLAS2009, the ultra-shear plasticizing extruder invented by Professor Jin Jinping of South China University of Technology has received extensive attention. Two companies have exhibited two products using this mechanism at different booths. Shear plasticizing extruder. Among them, the model of the ultra-shear plasticizing extruder exhibited in Hall 3.1 is SSPE-40, and the demonstration project is LDPE blown film. The joint from the feeding port to the die is only about 25 cm. This extruder is extruded. The maximum output of LDPE is 55kg/h, and the energy consumption is only one-third of the traditional screw extruder; the equipment displayed in Hall 13.1 is larger, the model is SSPE-80, and the extrusion output can reach 200kg/h. This new type of plastic extruder based on new raw materials completely abandons the shear and friction based transport and plasticization mechanism of traditional screw plastic extruders, but uses a transport mechanism based on normal stress. The extruder is composed of several sets of blade plasticizing extrusion units connected in series. The structure of each group of blade plasticizing extrusion units is similar to the vane pump in the hydraulic system, and is composed of a pump body, an eccentric rotor and blades.

During operation, the material enters from the large end of the eccentric cavity and is then pushed by the blade to the small end of the cavity and extruded into the next unit, during which the material is completely ground, compacted, vented and plasticized under the action of normal stress. The transport volume of the material in this process is determined by the volume change of the cavity in the pump, and the transport efficiency is basically unaffected by the rheological properties of the material. Therefore, the amount of extrusion during the extrusion process is little affected by the pressure of the die, and the extrusion characteristics are hard. Moreover, the residence time of the material in the extruder is more uniform, which reduces the thermal history difference of the material.
